My mother-in-law, who knows how fond I am of old kitchenware, tins, jars, pots and cups, recently surprised me with a beautiful gift – a vintage tea-set that she’d had in the family for years. She said she could remember it being at her Grandmothers house when she was a little girl, but had no idea how old it was, or when it was made. After getting over the excitement of just being handed something so beautiful, I did a little digging on the internet, and discovered a site which was dedicated to this particular pottery – I located the watermark on the bottom, and discovered that it was manufactured between 1882 and 1911. An actual, proper, legitimate antique tea-set – I do feel ever so lucky, regardless of what it’s worth today. I love passing it in the hallway, and wondering who drank from it, and more importantly, what they were wearing!
Utterly gorgeous – I'm green with envy. Enjoy!
It is so pretty.
