home: bathroom tour

I started shooting this post absolutely ages ago, and have been trying ever since to get a picture of the whole bathroom but it’s a) too small and b) too dark, and after having a total paddy about the rubbish pictures, I decided life was too short to weep over blog posts, and gave up.

I really like our little bathroom, even though the emphasis is on the word little. As you go in, you can walk straight to the toilet or get in the bath, and that’s it – and you can’t get to the sink without shutting the door right up either. But it just feels really calm, and in the summer it gets the evening light which is gorgeous; the sunlight filters through the gaps in the blind and makes the whole room glow.

I’ve collected loads of bits over the years that have ended up in here; some like the shells and the cacti, which were gathered specifically with the bathroom in mind, while the little home-y bits like the enamel jug and floral tin were found at boot sales and charity shops and have just ended up in here by accident. I think that’s the best thing about having lots of ‘stuff’ – you can always shift things around and get a brand new look without buying anything else.

I love your bathroon, it looks so homely and full of lovely little bits of style and pattern. That blue bottle is gorgeous.

Is that washi tape I spy on the window blind? Lovely bits and pieces you've collected. Truly eclectic. I'd struggle to take a pic of our bathroom too, because it is ridiculously tiny. But it's just as well because it's in desperate need of a makeover!

I love it! I love all the little bits and bobs that make it so individual. Our bathroom is bloody tiny, I hate it! x

Love the little touches you've captured…our bathroom is a good size but sadly has no window so a photograph would make it look like a dungeon! xx
